Duster to Dust

"I found this 1971 Duster in sad shape in Canada. It's a 318 car, and it's been sitting for 20+ years. Originally Citron Yella, with that true 70's interior. Frame is killed, I believe a drunk driver was at fault."

"These cars are in East Texas, and they belong to a friend of mine. He has owned them for over 20 years. The orange '69 on the bottom is a SS396 4-speed car. Hugger Orange with standard black interior. The '69 on top of it is a Lemans Blue with white vinyl top and standard white interior. It is an air car with a 4-speed. It was built in October so it has the early Norwood tag and can't tell if it is an SS or not."

Catalina Under Cover

"Here are some pics of a 1965 2-door Catalina owned by a friend of mine. It was used back in high school as a daily driver and retired behind his shed in the late 70’s or early 80’s. 30 years have passed and we talk about it occasionally, but I think it’s about ready to be taken out in pieces to the scrap yard. He recently told me the roof has collapsed and I can’t imagine the floor is still there. The motor has been kept fairly dry so it may be salvageable, but I doubt there is much else of value. Many memories of cruisin’ in this one. We recall the Pontiac heater would cook your feet in the dead of winter. It's a 389 V8 with automatic. No power options, but it had an FM radio (big deal back then)."

**UPDATE 4/13/2011**

"Here's an update on the 'Catalina Undercover'. My friend pulled it out from the dirt just last week, and as expected the front end and engine came right off! The lower control arms and frame were gone. The rest was crushed in by the backhoe so he could get a chain around it to pull it out. He dragged it out to the driveway where he loaded it on a flatbed. This one will never be seen again and is gone for good! A few emblems and trim were removed but the rest is history. Amazing what 33 years of weather will do! Note the last inspection sticker from 1977. The pics tell how bad it really was."
