"Hi Steve, I'm glad to see you're taking over CarsinBarns.com and keeping it going! I found a guy who was going to crush his 1968 Dodge Dart 270 so I approached him and asked what he would take for the car. He said $100, and after that it was all mine! The car had no motor, but it did have a 727 transmission and 8 3/4 rear end. Believe it or not, the car had a decent interior. I have had the car for about a year now and put in a nice 318. I just got the body and paint work done as you can see in the photos." From Jesse
Jerry's '70 Buick GS Found:
Saved:
"I found this car on eBay about 5 years ago. It was last registered in 1983, and was in pretty rough condition. It's a 455 Stage 1 with automatic. It took a while, but it's now restored to perfection. I did all the work myself except for rebuilding the transmission. It's nice to enjoy her rather than work on her. Took first place at the very first show I entered after completing the restoration. Thanks for CarsinBarns.com Steve, who knows what's left to discover out there. Keep looking!" Ed's '70 Mustang Found:
Saved:
"Steve, I thought I'd send some pictures of a 1970 Mustang that I saved! I saw this Mustang when I was giving my buddy a ride to a mechanic's house to pick up his 1972 Ford F100 that needed engine work. I asked my buddy what the mechanic was doing with it, and he said that the mechanic was an old Ford guy and that he was going to restore it someday. I basically forgot about it and never asked again until 2 years ago. I remembered that he had the '70 sitting there and my curiosity got the best of me. I drove down the 1/2 mile driveway to find the car sitting in the exact same spot, but this time an oak branch had broken out the windshield. I asked him if he was going to restore it, or if he was going to sell it to me to restore. After about a week, he called me and we made a deal. The car was brought to Wisconsin in 1990 from South Carolina. It had the engine removed, and sat since then. It changed hands a couple of times before I acquired it in 2007. Thank goodness the mechanic was willing to part with it because I proceeded to build my dream car. It is not a true boss 302, but looks the part now after countless hours of work. Thank you for putting time into this site. It gives hope to people like myself that we will find 'THE ONE' out there somewhere. " From Ed in Wisconsin
