NEW CONTENT ADDED July 16, 2009 1969 Dodge Charger in Italy
"Steve, congratulations for your great web site. I write to you from Varese, Italy and I want to tell you the story of my Charger. I bought it from a trader two years ago. I love 'Dukes of Hazzard' since I was child. The car was found in Suffolk, Virginia and found to be a numbers-matching 383 SE. I restore it completely, everything works! A/C, clock and stereo AM with cassette. I have found the previous owners, but I continue to research other previous owners." From Christian in Italy **STORY UPDATE** I got an email from Christian Rogora in Italy. His '69 Charger was featured on CarsinBarns.com in July 2009. He's finished the restoration, and even though it's a "General Lee" recreation, it's cool to see another car rescued and returned to the road. You can read the full story behind Christian's search and restoration of his dream car in the May newsletter of the Tidewater Mopar Club.
1959 Corvette with Optional Truck Topper
"Steve, first of all love the site. Please keep up the great work. I have a story about a '59 Corvette sitting in a field in Pennsylvania. I don't own the car, but I wish I did. This car has been sitting here since the mid 70's. At some point, the chrome and engine were taken out. Most of the chrome is still in the trunk, but it's very bad. The frame is rotted out. Someone decided to put a truck bed cap over the Vette (to protect the Vette or the cap I do not know). The owner said it was not for sale, but was nice enough to let me look at it. I later found out it was her daughter's. About 3 years ago, the car disappeared. I do not know if the daughter took it back or someone bought it. Either way, I hope someone is enjoying it. Many locals call the road this Vette was on 'The Old Vette Road'. A '57 FI barn find was about 1 mile up the road, a '65/'66 coupe is sitting in a field a few miles away, and I've heard people talk about a '61 in the area. Sorry, the pictures I have aren't the greatest." From Adam in Pennsylvania
California '67 Mustang
"I picked this up about a month ago. I bought it from the original owner's son. It's been sitting in Riverside since 1984 in the backyard. Factory S Code 390, 4-speed, deluxe interior with correct drivetrain. I brought it home and plan on keeping it." From Chris in California
