This 1969 442 has been sitting off a
well traveled road for a very long time. Never an answer at the door.

I have been hearing
rumors about this car for about seven years now. Every sway meet I
go to I hear about the "All original, matching numbers, SS 396 Chevelle
convertible sitting for about 30 years" A few days ago my buddy tells me
about this big block chevelle convertible sitting behind a co-workers
house and they are looking to sell it. I naturally go and check it
out right away and realize that this car is the one I have been hearing
about from a few people who have heard about it and so on. I get
the owner at a price we can both live with and after a few hours of
getting it out of where it was, I brought it home. He tells me it
has been sitting since the early 70's. The only thing that saved
this car was the truck cap he had sitting on it. 1966 SS 396-360
horse, 4-speed, 12 bold posi with 3.73's, console and buckets. All
matching numbers down to the distributer. |
Found this car in MA sitting under a
tarp. Right next to it is an Olds under a tarp. Looks like its
been sitting for a few years. Knocked with no answer, went back to my
car to write a note and a car pulls in the driveway. The brother of
the guy who owns it tells me has owned the Corvette forever and probably
won't ever sell it. |
