" BOWTIES IN BARNS - PAGE # 36" |
This car was drug out of a barn in South Haven Mi. 3-11-01. It's a Ram-air car, the owner parked it in 76 and tore it apart to
restore, as seen in picture, it never made it. Finally able to salvage what's left when he needed some quick cash. - JEFF B. |
The restoration is not complete by any means because I'm an Engineering student but progress has been made and the car is safe and dry. I can't wait to see it on the road. - JAMES S. |
I found this car in a storage building at a restoration shop in town. Original 442 W-30 post coupe edition that only 19 were made. Odd car because it had dummy lights and was basically stripped of all options except for the W-30 option. The owner had bought this car from a kid in Auburn Al for $1000 in this condition as I was told. |
The kid bought the car from a salvage yard in Auburn for $100. The complete drive train was gone and a 12 bolt Chevy rear end was installed. The restoration shop owner had the car frame replaced and put new sheet metal on and found a lot of parts to complete the package. He gave up on it because he had too many other projects and I was able to talk him out of the car for $3500 in this condition. |
