1970 FORD TORINO GT... THIS WAS FOR SALE ON A GUY'S FRONT LAWN - BILL G. |
The following pictures were taken in Eastern Maryland. I had heard about these cars from a guy I worked with. |
He figured since I drive a hot rod 68 Fairlane, I could probably use the cars for parts. He gave me very accurate directions but I could not find them for the life of me. Then I happened
to be going by the area in the middle of fall, and low and behold, a glint of chrome caught my eye. They were hiding in plain sight, though you have to look really well to see them. The cars sit on an abandoned property behind what can only be described as a shack. There were several other cars
back there, but not worth a darn. |
The 71 Torino GT is completely intact with the exception of the broken out windows and the liberated hood. The body is very
nice. The 68 Torino GT is a real heart breaker. Originally a 390 automatic car, its motor and trans were pulled and the carcass stuffed in the woods. Evidently the car became a club house and its interior was trashed. the center console is still there in a million
pieces. This is a sight that made me sick, and to make matters worse, I am not able to find out who owns
the property and I am not brave enough to risk getting arrested going back there to tow the cars out. Oh well! Jimbo |
