" BLUE OVALS IN BARNS - PAGE # 39 "

Here is a 1968 Cougar XR7 G that I've known about for 12 years.  When I knock on the door a little old man said that the car is not for sale.  It's my sons car and he is going to restore it.  12 years later I spot the car in the neighbors back yard, so I knock on his door and a old lady comes to the door.  It's her husbands car, he comes outside and says you want to see the cougar?  I ask him, is the car for sale and he said, I want what I paid for it 12 years ago, $1,000.  I said Sold, I did have the Martie report done and it's a 100% real XR7 G car with a sunroof, PS, PDB, Tilt-Cruise, Air, Auto and the original cougar valve covers.
I put this car in a barn and came back 15 years later to get it.  Fully refurbished now and looking good.  Recently drove it from Nashville to Chicago to LA with my 15 year old son.  Had a blast.  Marty
This one was sitting in a yard behind a trailer house for about 10 years.  My father had fixed the guys water well and told me about the car.  One year later I was able to buy the Mustang.  His story was that he and his son were going to restore the car.  Even had a box full of parts to prove it to me.  When I finally bought the car he told me his son had moved out of state years ago and that he had finally given up hope he would come back.  I am currently restoring this car and when done, I will have replaced all body panels except for the firewall and roof.  I learned a valuable lesson here.  They are not all necessarily worth saving.

This is the photos of a 69 Mustang a co-worker had on his property.  Apparently the cars owner left it on the land because he did not have a place to store it when he moved.
